1. Do not let the lessons be overwhelming. The lessons do not have to be hard or complicated. There are courses available to help you focus on the lessons that make it a fun experience with everything you will need to know how to play the acoustic guitar.
2. Find lessons that show you how to play songs you enjoy. Nothing like having to practice a song you do not like or enjoy. Before you start your lessons ask the songs you will be learning. Do not settle for an instructor that only offers songs you will hate learning.
3. Make sure the instructor offers you a chord chart with your lessons. Make sure the chart shows the finger placement so you can learn the chords easier. Without the visual chart and fingerings you will get easily frustrated and confused. Make sure it is easy to learn the chords so your experience is fun.
4. Consider taking your lessons online. There are many online courses that will show you the chords finger placement and you can take your lessons when you want. If you do use an online course make sure it offer audio so you can hear the right pitch of each chord and well as the verbal instructions. This makes learner easier.
5. Make sure the acoustic lessons are designed for beginners. You want to learn from the very beginning and your lessons need to be for beginners.
